2014 Art City Days

This year's theme was "A great place to live"  originally I had thought of doing the milky way galaxy with planets and such, but then decided I would do scenes from around Springville.  Only 30% of the cake needed to actually be cake so I had the bottom tier as cake.  The bottom tier was main street and the older buildings along it.  Middle tier was the splash pad, and the top tier was the beautiful mountain view we have.  Then a hot air balloon cake topper. 

Baby Shower Competition Cake

I entered the Art City Cake Competition again this year and the theme was "Celebrate".  At the time I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and thought a baby would be a great thing to celebrate.  This is a raspberry cream cake with raspberry filling.  Took 2nd place in the Intermediate Category.  

My First Competition Cake!

This was my first competition cake. with a theme of "Living the Sweet Life" I entered in the beginner category as the intermediate was several years of decorating (I've only decorated for 8 months) anyways, chocolate and vanilla marbled cake with a chocolate buttercream filling and covered in marshmallow fondant, decorations are all fondant. I had some issues with my bow so I had to re design it while decorating. I placed 3rd in the beginners. It was a very fun experience and made some new friends and can't wait until next years!
